Particulate Filter Removal - DPF OFF

Reprogramming the ECU to remove the diesel particulate filter or so-called DPF bypass is a technique that involves modifying the engine ECU software to disable the diesel particulate filter and allow the vehicle to operate without it. This process is carried out by modifying the electronic parameters of the engine. Therefore, it allows the vehicle to emit a greater amount of polluting particles into the atmosphere.

Did you know that modern vehicles are equipped with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) system that helps reduce emissions of hazardous particulates? However, for some diesel car owners, the DPF can cause more problems than benefits.

Reprogramming the vehicle to bypass the DPF system can be beneficial for diesel car owners who experience DPF-related problems, such as frequent filter blockages, incomplete regenerations or the need to replace the DPF too often.

Removing the DPF can improve engine efficiency, which can lead to increased power and better performance.

However, this practice is prohibited by law in some countries as it significantly increases the vehicle's harmful emissions, which can have a negative impact on the environment and human health.

It is important to note that removing the DPF can also have negative consequences on the vehicle's maintenance. It can cause the exhaust system to become blocked and damage the engine if it is not mechanically removed and the exhaust system is not cleared. In addition, this practice can void the vehicle's warranty and may be detected by an ITV (Inspection of Vehicles).
