We can offer you repair of Garrett, Holset, Schwitzer, KKK, Mitsubishi, IHI, Toyota, Hitachi, etc. types of turbochargers .
All turbochargers undergo a full inspection and check, as well as cleaning of the parts until all deposits and dirt that could affect the inspection and repair of the turbocharger are completely removed
Here are some necessary measures and recommendations so that the installation of the turbocharger can go without any subsequent problems:
Necessary checks before installing the turbocharger.
1. Check the oil supply pipeline (oil highway).
Remove the pipeline, drain the oil in it and clean it thoroughly. Thorough cleaning of the pipeline is very important, but if there is any blockage, damage or kinking, the pipeline must be replaced. Thoroughly wash the supply connections. Never use liquid gaskets (silicone)!
2. Change the oil
Changing the oil and oil filter is mandatory. If this is not done, there is a high probability that the new turbocharger will be defective. Old or dirty oil prevents lubrication and will cause damage, especially to the bearings and shaft.
3. Check the oil outlet pipe!
Remove the pipe, drain the oil in it and clean it thoroughly. Make sure the pipe is clean. The oil should flow easily to the crankcase. If the drain pipe is clogged, the turbocharger can create additional pressure in the crankcase and start leaking oil through the oil rings, both in the turbine and compressor parts.
4. Check the crankcase ventilation
Make sure the ventilation is clean and in good condition. A clogged vent can cause a problem related to oil leakage from the turbocharger. Be sure to replace the crankcase ventilation filter*, often located on the engine vent. ( *optional, available on most car models).
5. Check the engine condition
When the engine is not in good condition, it also affects the turbocharger. For example, increased pressure in the crankcase can cause oil to leak from the turbocharger. The turbo returns this oil back to the engine, respectively into the combustion chamber.
6. Check the air ducts
Change a new air filter, check and blow the air duct from the air filter to the turbocharger. Also, the air duct from the turbo to the engine should be checked and cleaned. If the car has an intercooler, it should be cleaned and flushed of remnants of old turbocharger parts or oil. Be sure to check the exhaust pipes (catalyst)! A clogged catalyst can create additional crankcase pressure.
7. Check the oil pressure
Use a clean container to collect oil from the oil supply line. Leave its nozzle untightened. Crank the engine to ensure that the oil supply is normal and the line is bled. Use a manometer! Make sure that the oil has the required atmospheric pressure.
