Shell blasting is a process that uses an abrasive material, such as walnut shells or other types of shells, to clean surfaces. This method is used to remove dirt, paint, or rust from various materials such as metal, wood, or concrete.

Some manufacturers recommend this procedure at intervals of 45,000 km. Over the years, this causes a buildup of black soot that hardens around the intake valves. The buildup causes restrictions in the engine, leading to loss of power, overheating and higher fuel consumption.

In shell blasting, the abrasive material is fired at high pressure by compressed air or other means at the surface being treated. This process can be used to prepare surfaces for painting, to clean metal parts, or to restore old objects.

Shell blasting can be an effective method for cleaning and preparing various surfaces, providing greater paint adhesion and extending the life of the material being treated.

At Genetic Motorsport Tm, we use this procedure to clean carbon deposits in the intake ports, valves, and valve seats of internal combustion engines.
